We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Ryan Eriksen as our new Director of Engineering at Heliotrope Photonics.

Ryan brings a rare combination of hands-on technical expertise and strategic leadership in advancing solar hardware from research concepts to market-ready products. With deep experience in solar technology prototyping, pilot manufacturing, and commercialization, he has led efforts that bridge cutting-edge engineering with real-world deployment.

Before joining Heliotrope, Ryan co‑founded Sol Clarity, where he developed an electrostatic self‑cleaning system for solar panels. He took the concept from a benchtop idea through iterative prototyping, pilot manufacturing, and full-size field trials. Many of the same skills developed at Sol Clarity are directly translatable to Heliotrope.

At Heliotrope, Ryan will lead the technical execution and engineering strategy for our light‑shifting coating technology, driving the path from advanced materials research to scalable manufacturing and market impact. His proven ability to align technical execution with product and commercial objectives makes him a powerful addition to our mission.
